Myth or Fact: Heaven

Had a great relaxing trip to Lonavla last weekend.

For those, who are tempted to ask, "How was it?"

Read Silly! Great and relaxing! :)

We had a fun ride, a free farm house, let the first drops of Lonavla rain touch our face and with it the breezing clouds passing through us, danced crazy in the rain with the wet grass beneath, shivered in the cold to watch a long beautiful sunset over Duke's nose, drank till 3 am in the morning, had a great laugh, woke up lazy the next morning, bonded, played some good music, lazed around some more, and of course, had yummy food.

Sounds like heaven, doesn't it?

For once, the myth came real

Unreasonable Melody

Something aches, through the depths

And shallow layers of this heart
Know it all I do, mend it how I don't
There is hope, someone says
Cling badly to the hope, for days
A deep breath, and soul is beckoned
What's the solution?, with it, I reckon
Let time take its casual turn,
Let destiny create its magic churn
Confused & dejected, when would I see?
Simplicity sounds the answer
Complexity acts the dancer
Break noisy things, I wish a two
Make me free, someday will who?

The Friendly Stranger Path

A conscious effort, a terrific farce
Matters of friendship never be so scarce
Until eternity, we once toasted
Dawn awakens & we never boasted
Wonder where we end up today
No trust, forget the love born one day
Let down again and yet again, I did feel
Why didn't you ever attempt, on our friendship, an unbreakable seal?
Disposable I be, fail to see the truth, you did betray
Better things in life lead your heart astray
I wish for a friend, never does he leave
Plenty things he may have, up his sleeve
Not through life and death, but through the bits in between
Doesn't seem difficult, for I believe I do truly deserve
The friendship unfulfilled by you
The promises broken all through.

2 faces in the mirror

Passing thoughts --

Some people are really good at talking, but phoos-phoos when it comes to action

Some people are good protectors of others, but obvious killers of themselves

Some people can be charming to many, but tedious to their own imges

Some people can be real sweethearts, but make you wish they stood in the line of intelligence

Some people can be extraordinary leaders, but terrible disciplinarians.

One word underlies all the above limitations. One word decides whether you cross over to extraordinary life or mediocre living.

Insecurity.

Taking Sides

I was watching this nice movie the other day - Mumbai Meri Jaan and the next day while I was standing at the train station waiting for my train and an old woman in ragged clothes walked by to get a glass of water to wash her face early morning, the thought that immediately went into my head was -

" How come everyone was quick to criticize Slumdog Millionaire for showing the 'wrong side' of India and Bollywood producers make movies on the supposedly 'wrong side' all the time and the only reviews they get are 'great movie dude!" Remember Page 3, Company et al?

Some might argue, those movies are not paraded on International Stage the way Slumdog Millionaire was. It's all about perceptions. Think about TRPs. The breaking news today was more focussed on Sheetal Mafatlal getting arrested and someone from within the family tipping off the customs because of a Family feud. There was another breaking news - something about Patil and murder charges. I never got to see the news on that because all the while the 'news' was focussed on Mafatlal story. Why do you think? Oh, nothing like a top notch family feud! Get's TRPs. All about perceptions. People might complain about how the wrong news is focussed upon, but the fact is they would watch the Mafatlal story with more interest than a government servant (read: minister) and murder charges. All about perceptions.

So the world might think 'wrongly' about India having looked at the 'wrong side'.

So my question - right side, wrong side, it's both sides. Why bother hiding what's real and in your face, really?

I remember a British National writing a letter to the PMO asking if the beggar market reality in India, shown in Slumdog, is for real and the PMO promising to investigate the same. Now, we all know it is for real, just that it's an open secret.

Some secrets can be a bigger blot on India's progress than what a movie made by someone not from Bollywood, methinks.

Mealsothinksinkeywords - Karan Johar, International, fancy, not so real, reeks millions. Eh? Seriously?

Unleashed Beauty

Nothing about this night is empty & dark

A different life emerges with a winning spark
Is it the man with his unleashed canine
Or the boy teaching free riding to his mate so feminine?
Peaceful white clouds in the bright daylight
Take on an armour of evil in the twilight
One wonders which one be the facade
Is it just the clouds or a man after a decade?
A gentle breeze calms the night philosopher
Throw her head back & laughs, she does at the Knight in Shining Armour
Predictable is the light, whilst darkness be opposed
Which of the two, embody her, does she suppose?
Light be her heart, dark be her mind
Her soul be colourless but could it actually be kind?
Leashed by endless descriptions, seems so passé
Breaks into dusk, fearless this lassie
